What we do
MTC is a world-leading producer of near-net shape (NNS) products produced by hot isostatic pressing (HIP). The ability to manufacture HIP products with irregular shapes and complex geometry offers several advantages over castings, forgings and fabricated materials, both in terms of design flexibility and material properties.
PM NNS HIP - The best additive manufacturing process in the world!
Powder Metallurgy Hot Isostatic Pressing was developed in the 60s and has since than developed further with possibility to manufacture NNS components with HIP. Design mindset is fundamentally similar to the AM process and why HIP, in our opinion, should be considered an AM-process with not just the possibilities that AM brings but also a technology with extensive track record.
Hydrogen-induced stress corrosion in duplex stainless steels- a short summary
Duplex stainless steels (DSS) are unrivalled in many applications where a combination of strength and corrosion resistance is required. However, despite their resistance to corrosion some failures in DSS used in seawater have been observed and explained by a phenomenon called hydrogen-induced stress corrosion (HISC).
A new era for Near-Net Shape HIP!
The pristine MTC Powder Solutions AB flags raised at the Near-Net Shape (NNS) HIP production unit in Surahammar marked a new chapter in the history books of NNS HIP components today.
